Costa Rica sportfishing report January 2011

Good morning anglers, The bill fishing has been spotty this month.Few anglers for off shore fishing but the anglers that do go off shore have been luckey. The Klein family from Pittsburg released a 600 lb black marlin and two silfish, also boated two large dorado. The Grossman group from NYC released a black marlin and boated six tuna fish in the 35 to 50lb range.

The picture is their marlin in the door. The Siegles from Aledo TX were here again and they released a large blact marlin and three large dorado. The Bad Dog took a party north and ran into a school of tuna and they spent most of the day catching tuna. They had 18 tuna fish in the 35 to 50 lb range and two tunas over 100lbs. They told me that they ate sushi all day. The in shore fishing has been up and down all month also. When we had dirty water we had corvina everywhere, but the rooster fishing has been slow also the groupper and snapper is slow, but plenty of jacks
